In order to build fruitful and lasting relationships with your prospective and existing clients, your focus should be on SERVING your clients. Nobody likes being SOLD to.
The world we operate our business in has evolved. Traditionally, services delivered by most businesses were transactional. With a huge digital movement, especially with social media platforms now being a major part of businesses, your customers & clients now want to get to know who is behind the brand; meaning as entrepreneurs and business owners we must be more transparent and authentic when engaging with stakeholders.
People buy from those they KNOW, LIKE & TRUST. By serving your clients, you will build lasting relationships with them and keep them engaged and connected.
In order to master the art of serving your clients, you must firstly know who they are!
You should have an ‘ideal client avatar’ or multiple sets of avatars, to reflect the different services/products you offer. Really get to know & understand your clients’ needs. Identify their pain points and provide a solution with your product/service – that’s serving.
Focus on adding value at all times. How & where can you go the extra mile.
Of course, within reason and as part of a bigger strategy as well as keeping within a budget if the added value brings a financial cost to your business!
One way you can provide added value and serve your clients is to offer them resources/information to benefit them.
For example, if you operate a letting agency, can you release a weekly blog for your landlords advising them on how to ensure they remain compliant within lettings legislation or perhaps providing them with a recommended list of insurance companies specialising in building insurance cover… added value.
By sowing more into the relationships you have with your clients, you will most certainly reap the rewards. It’s a principle! It also achieves a WIN WIN outcome… happy clients = happy business owner!
